Gobble

Gobble promotions began as a one off dance event in the Christmas 2000 period, born out of demand for a credible dance night in a small town.
Tubes nightclub Melton Mowbray was the 1st venue to host a Gobble night, which was called “cold turkey”, it was a successful night, and filled the club to capacity, using resident djs Mark db, Chris-P, and guests.
One more event at tubes, then a move to Leicester saw Gobble change gear to another level, and using a venue deep in the student area. Storm @ the Emporium resident Nick Lunn played headliner, with residents supporting, this was the 1st full production night for Gobble, and extra sound, and a full lightshow, as well as décor was brought in for the night.
So the Gobble ball was well and truly rolling, and has now staged various dance events and hosted additional rooms at established events such as Escape, and Nocturnal.

Gobble has been host to some more bigger name djs including DJ SY (oldskool scratchmaster), Slipmatt ( Oldskool pioneer, SL2 etc), Ojay (money pennies), Miss B, (sundissential) Nick Lunn (Storm), Ian M (trade)
Gobble is an ongoing promotion, and has various projects in the pipeline.

Dance-Mission

Dance-Mission is a none profit making organisation focusing on the activities of many different groups of musicians / DJs / Producers / and artists working in the east Midlands dance music scene.
It is a collective of promoters from various genres of the dance scene.
Our inception is the result of a perceived need for an organisation to co-ordinate a dance stage at Abbey Park Festival. Whilst we work closely with the festival board on this event, we are a separate organisation with our own objectives.
• We are committed to promoting dance music as a viable form of artistic expression for young people, as well as a very popular form of entertainment.
• The main objective is to provide local creative talent with the opportunity to perform to wider audiences. Our focus is on festivals and outdoor events as they are more accessible to various different community groups.
• We also feel it is important to raise awareness of related issues that affect young people in the dance scene and in the community at large-namely drugs advice, and safe sex awareness.
• Through our efforts we hope to enrich the variety and innovativeness of cultural events in Leicester and the surrounding region.

Dance-Mission was formed primarily to put on the dance stage at the Abbey Park Festival 2002
